thank you for all you have done bill and my name is george and im from casper wyoming going to casper college and doing the robotics class and helping out the high school students learing the new programs and showing them how to build a robot also i could not get the other ones work at all like the game overview because it says i have limted sercetry assces to it and it would not pring up for me to enter in the password
ps bill i got it to work now that i had to download a newer version of pdf but now when i type the password in it tells me its incorrect or that i have the caps on but i dont have the caps on or typed it in wrong i copyed it from your blog and it worked for the 2012 Decryption Test File page but after that it keeps telling me that i have the wrong password
Hi George, the other PDF files use a different password which will be only be shown later during the official kickoff event broadcast on January 7th. This is when the game is officially revealed to everyone at the same time, and when teams get their Kit of Parts. Before then, nobody knows what the game will be about, or what kind of rules there will be. The files are posted here for convenience so people can download them ahead of time.
After the game is officially revealed, FIRST will usually post a new updated PDF without a password as everyone should know about the game by then.
Decrypt test worked well. Less than four days until kickoff and only one game hint!?! Could we get a little more motivation.... Please
Can someone please explain to me what good it does to send an encrypted manual before the competition, when the full, unencrypted manual will be available and you can't open this encrypted manual before then, anyway?? Seems like a waste of time to me!
Frank, I thought it was so that I could download the pdf to my ipod or computer so that I could have immediate access to it as the server is most likely going to be overloaded with teams trying to access it. It doesn't appear that the file downloaded, so I don't think it is going to work as I planned.
Tangledude, right click on section and use "Save Link As" then you can save it without trying to launch the pdf file. Once you have it saved on a computer it should be easy to copy it to an ipad or smart phone.
Frank and Tangledude within about five minutes of the password being shared the server is going to be overloaded by all the teams trying to acess the file. In other words the server could crash.
Thanks ArtD3. I looked in my inbox and had an email from FRC and in there it explained how to do it. I was able to download it. I'm SO ready for this Kickoff!! Our team, FIRST Team 74, is very excited!
